Early this month, the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong is transformed into a hub of contemporary art as 60 guest rooms are temporarily turned into viewing galleries for the Asia Contemporary Art Show. Fresh, new talents are showcased alongside recognised artists from across the continent. A variety of mediums is on display, including original drawings, paintings, sculptures and photographs, and the 60 viewing galleries in which the works are housed promise to be a good way to sample the Asian art scene.

This annual film festival, held in the swanky Roppongi Hills neighbourhood, is one of Asia’s most prestigious. Heading the judging panel this year is veteran cult movie producer and director Roger Corman, with more than 550 films under his belt over a 60-year career.
